MyEclipse: Prefernce Page: Java > Editor > Templates doesn´t wor thomasp667 - Dec 10, 2008 - 04:31 PM Post subject: Prefernce Page: Java > Editor > Templates doesn´t wor
Today I did a clean install of Myeclipse 7.0.
I created a new clean workspace.
Then I try to access preference page Java>Editor>Templates and an error was thrown::
"The currently displayed page contains invalid values"
Then I restarted MyEclipse and then the preference page works (magic, magic).
Then I checked out a couple of Java-Maven projects.
After this, the preference page can´t be accessed again with the same error as above.
I restarted MyEclipse again, but this time without success.
I deleted all projects, restarted Eclipse and then everything works fine.......

haocheng,
Im sorry you ran into the same issue. We will try to rectify this asap.nileshk - Dec 15, 2008 - 07:10 PM Post subject: RE: Prefernce Page: Java > Editor > Templates doesn´t
I was experiencing this bug with 7.0 milestone 2. When I uninstalled MyEclipse, the bug went away. Installed 7.0 GA and I'm experiencing the bug again.
My workaround is to use a clean copy of Eclipse (that doesn't have MyEclipse installed) with its own workspace, and edit my custom templates in that copy. Eclipse stores custom templates in this file (along with a lot of other configuration):
So what I do is I copy the line that starts with "org.eclipse.jdt.ui.text.custom_templates=" followed by XML from the clean copy to the one with MyEclipse installed. And restart Eclipse to pick up the change.
If you try this workaround make sure to make a backup of this file before you edit it, just in case something goes wrong.support-nipun - Dec 16, 2008 - 03:12 PM Post subject: RE: Prefernce Page: Java > Editor > Templates doesn´t

c3solutions,
The issue has not been resolved yet. What version of MyEclipse are you working with?c3solutions - Jan 13, 2009 - 12:43 PM Post subject:
We're using Version: 7.0
Build id: 7.0-20081201
I just wanted to make sure we didn't miss an update or something like that the would resolve the issue.
Thanks !support-rkalla - Jan 13, 2009 - 02:54 PM Post subject:
