Genuitec Expands Strategic Membership of the Eclipse Foundation
Sep 03, 2008
Founding member company increases commitment to Eclipse and open source
Genuitec announced today their expansion into “Strategic Member” status for the Eclipse Foundation. This highest level of Foundation membership ensures both financial and technological backing of the Eclipse platform, as well as increased influence on the platform's evolution through board membership.
"Genuitec has been a valuable member of the Eclipse Foundation since its inception,” said Mike Milinkovich, executive director for the Eclipse Foundation. “We're very pleased to see them increase their commitment to Eclipse by moving up to the strategic level, and we're looking forward to their continued high level of contribution to Eclipse-based technologies and projects moving forward."
Genuitec's Eclipse consulting services, RCP envisioning, Pulse tool profiling service and popular MyEclipse IDE have served as major contributors to the ecosystem surrounding Eclipse. The initiative to elevate the company's membership status is a natural outcropping of Genuitec's demonstrated support of Eclipse and the dependent ecosystem.
“We're excited to take our support of Eclipse to the next level,” said Maher Masri, CEO for Genuitec. “We've always made a point to encourage open source technology development both inside and outside our products, including MyEclipse. This move in support of the Foundation and the ecosystem further illustrates our commitment to keeping the Eclipse platform on the cutting edge of technology adoption and an unmatched industry mainstay.”
In addition to the visible leadership role on a number of Eclipse technology projects, Genuitec is making a considerable financial and resource commitment to advance Eclipse and will be working with Eclipse Foundation leadership and the broader Eclipse ecosystem to propel Eclipse adoption well beyond the development tools market.
Genuitec's status as an Eclipse Foundation Strategic Member was official as of September 1, 2008.
